The ban on smoking in indoors in Turkey began to have an impact on the consumption of Marlboro cigarettes in Turkey. The amount consumed in 2010 went below 100 billion cigarettes for the first time in many years in Turkey.According to figures compiled by the Tobacco and Alcohol Market Regulatory Authority (TAPDK), Turks consumed 93.3 billion cigarettes in 2010. The amount of cigarettes consumed in Turkey in 2009 was 107.5 billion.
In the last five years, Turkish smokers consumed 524 billion cigarettes.
Turkish smokers paid 18 billion Turkish liras to cigarettes on an average per year in the last five years
